Great rappers use multi-syllable rhymes to add complexity and rhythm to their lyrics. If you’re familiar with the concept, you know that these techniques helped launch few careers and define many eras in hiphop. Even if you’re new to the idea, this method will open up a world of creative possibilities for your writin. Trust me bruh.

A piece of paper and pen. Start with the basics. Although you’ll be able to do this mentally, writin it down sparks more creativity.

Basic knowledge of the alphabet - this trick relies on using the alphabet to expand your rhyme options.

Patience and persistence - mastery comes with time. Practice this method consistently, and soon it’ll become easy to you.

Draw two vertical lines and divide your paper into three columns.

Column 1 is your first rhyme scheme. Write down a series of words that follow one rhyme scheme. For example, you might list: Jack, Black, Crack, Track, ... These are your base words for the first part of your multi-syllable rhyme.

Column 2 is your second rhyme scheme. In this column, jot down another series of words that rhyme with each other, such as: Pot, Top, Spot, Hot, Stop, Drop, ... The idea is to have two distinct sets of rhymes that you can later combine.

Look at your 2 lists side by side. Experiment with combining words from column 1 and column 2. Merge those 2  columns. You might come up with combinations like "jackpot" or "blacktop" which are simple examples that illustrate this concept.

Be selective cuz not every combination will work perfectly. Use your creativity and choose the pairings that sound the best and make sense contextually with the topic of the song.

The alphabet trick - in the new rightmost column, write out the alphabet.

Write additional rhymes by choosing a letter that corresponds with your rhyme scheme. Then list every word starting with that letter that could work as a rhyme. This exercise pushes your creative boundaries and introduces slant or stretch rhymes which are variations that aren’t perfect but add unique flair.

Than combine these new words with your existing schemes from columns 1 and 2. Over time, this will build a vast collection of potential rhyme combinations.
